Personal/Object Tracking
Protection of lone workers in a remote location is proving to be extremely difficult
for global employers as they increasingly face litigation for failure to provide
adequate provision in the event of an employee's safety being compromised. Whilst
it may be impossible to prevent all the risks they face, providing them with the
means to easily send out a distress alert and/or be quickly located in an emergency
situation must be one of the most effective risk reducing measures available.
Our GPS tracking devices use the Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the
precise location of the person to which it is attached. This information can then
be transmitted to a mobile phone or internet-connected computer, using the mobile
phone (GPRS) network. This allows the wearer's location to be displayed on a detailed
map in real-time.
At a requested moment, the device transmits the data from the GPS receiver either
via SMS or GPRS, typically containing the following information:
- GPS co-ordinates
- Time
- Date
- Speed
The location data is then received as an SMS by mobile phone or sent to our dedicated
tracking software and displayed on a detailed map via our website accessed over
the internet, allowing you to access this information from any internet enabled
PC.
